Academic Writing 6

This eight-week course emphasizes creating written documents including a research paper. This course has been designed to help master the basic skills needed to write effectively. Its lessons and activities will increase your understanding of the mechanics of writing punctuation, capitalization, spelling, sentence structure and grammar. Students will also learn how to apply the various steps in the writing process, which will help them to become a more confident writer. Learners who successfully complete Level 6 Academic Writing are prepared to enter post-secondary education and/or obtain and maintain employment. Prerequisite: TABE 11.0-12.9 or consent of instructor; COMPASS writing 48-99 and E-Write 4; COMPASS writing 38-99 and E-WRITE 5; or COMPASS writing 1-31 and E-WRITE 6. Note: You must enroll in Academic Writing 5, 77-851-757 and Academic Writing 6, 77-851-797 within the same semester - same time, days, and instructor.
