Level 1 Academic Writing has been designed to help master the basic skills needed to write effectively. Its lessons and activities will increase the learners’ understanding of the mechanics of writing including: grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and sentence structure. Students will also learn how to apply the various steps in the writing process, which will help them to become a more confident writer. Prerequisite: TABE 0.0-1.9 or consent of instructor; Compass writing 1-47 and E-Write 1 or 2; or COMPASS writing 1-20 and E-WRITE 3. Note: You must enroll in Academic Writing 1, 73-851-717 and Academic Writing 2, 74-851-727 within the same semester -same time, days, and instructor.
