In "Stop Motion Animation" students will explore stop-motion animation through various exercises, and will learn how to make storyboards, armatures, clay puppets, and the process to make a short animated film. In "Photomanipulation w/ Photoshop," students (who are expected to have prior experience with Photoshop) will use Photoshop CS4 to create digital artwork from photographs; techniques will include extraction, blending, layer masks, adjustment layers and many other Photoshop tools to glamorize portraits, change mood, add drama, or create exotic art. Using a "Digital Camera Basics" covers the fundamentals of point-and-shoot digital camera photography, explanation of typical camera controls, adjusting and using flash, shooting modes, camera set-up menu, and exposure controls, and how to retrieve photos from the camera. "Using a Digital Camera" covers the fundamentals of point-and-shoot digital camera photography, explanation of typical camera controls, adjusting and using flash, shooting modes, camera set-up menu, and exposure controls, and how to retrieve photos from the camera. The "Digital Camera Workshop" is intended for those who understand the basic point-and-shoot operation of their digital cameras, but who are seeking assistance in taking better pictures and making better use of more of their digital camera’s features. In "Digital Cameras: Portrait Photography," learn tips and techniques to take portraits and family photos that will be worthy of framing and cherished for decades; using correct camera controls, lighting technique, posing and subject arrangement, and choosing appropriate camera accessories will be discussed. "Digital Photography Advanced" will cover topics such as: setting custom white balance, using an off camera flash creatively, overriding automatic camera controls, shooting in the RAW mode, choosing lenses for various shooting situations, and other topics. In the "Photo Restoration Workshop," students will bring their photos and/or photo files as well as thumb drives, scan photos to files, and work on these scanned images to enlarge, correct fading, mend tears or remove other unwanted artifacts, and save the corrected files to take home or order prints.
