Presents relational database concepts and teaches beginning to intermediate Structured Query Language (SQL) using an Oracle database. Students learn to create and maintain database objects and to store, retrieve, and manipulate data. Demonstrations and hands-on practice reinforce the fundamental concepts. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in Intro to Database, 10-152-124, and completion or concurrent enrollment in Object-Oriented Design with UML, 10-152-130. Bioinformatics Certificate Students only: Grade of C or better in Intro to Bioinformatics, 10-007-180.

Credits: 3

Prerequisites: Prereq: Grade of C or better in 10152124 Intro to Database, and completion or concurrent enrollment in 10152130 Object Oriented Design with UML; for Bioinformatics Certificate students, grade of C or better in 10-007180 Introduction to Bioinformatics.
