Presents relational database concepts and teaches beginning to intermediate Structured Query Language (SQL) using an Oracle database including powerful Oracle PL/SQL extensions. Students learn to create and maintain database objects and to store, retrieve, and manipulate data. The introduction to PL/SQL covers blocks of application code that can be shared by multiple forms, reports, and data management applications. Demonstrations and hands-on practice reinforce the fundamental concepts. Prerequisites: Intro to Prog with JavaScript, 10-152-119, or Intro to Bioinformatics, 10-007-180, or consent of instructor.

Prerequisites: Prereq: Grade of C or better in 10152119 Intro to Programming with JavaScript or grade of C or better in 10007180 Introduction to Bioinformatics.
