Women in Literature examines women as both subjects and writers of literature. Students read works from a number of genres and eras, studying ways female writers have contributed to, challenged and enlarged the literary tradition. Introduces readers to literary works by and about women and teaches analytical skills, especially feminist literary criticisms. The works are selected to represent varied perspectives in race, class and sexual preference. Prerequisite: 20-801-201, English 1, or Communication Skills 1, 10-801-151.
